'Sanctuary' For A Hooker (and other lovely pieces)

The other day I was searching for a side chair for a job I am working on.

During the process I was flipping through our source catalogs 

and I found the side chair. 

The company is Hooker Furniture, 

the collection is called 'Sanctuary.'

I thought a little name association would help you to remember the name.

hahahahah

*Customers at work 

always crack up when I say to them "lets look at the Hooker pieces."

The finishes are all up to date with the coming trends.

I love this piece.

It comes in a black wash finish as well.

This is a nice end table, 30 x 30 x 25

This is the ARM chair.

And this is the SIDE chair that I may be using if the finish works with the table.

iPhone Coffee Table

Apple always could create a cult around their production. iPhone’s success is latest result of their marketing strategy. There are many DIY projects around apple products but not all of them have a nice quality and could be sold to other people. Although recent iLounge readers product could be. Tuan Nguyen, Ken Thomas and their associates have created an iPhone coffee table.

According to Nguyen, the table is “completely made of corrugate and glued together with white glue.”. It also features removable, usable coasters built-in.

Tidal Datum Tables

The body of work titled “Tidal Datums” is the result of my senior thesis project. The collection consists of a variety of objects inspired by the formal language of data graphics, intended to be a representation of analytic information through the medium of furniture. My work process began by gathering data graphs from NOAA’s historic tide database followed by translating the empirical information into tangible materials. The forms modeled from the data not only reveal a dynamic pattern, they facilitate a new way of experiencing information by enabling a physical interaction of tidal patterns with the body.

“to cover the plane with a pattern in such a way as to leave no region uncovered.”

This tessellation is based on a hexagon, and arises from a personal fascination with geometry. Component parts create a flat surface that plays with concepts of perception and visual illusion. Contrast of materials from wood to metal within the pattern adds to the illusion of the three-dimensional quality of the flat plane of the table..

Canopy Coffee Table

Inspired by a forest canopy, this two-tiered coffee table is organic in shape. The mortice and tenon legs, multiple in number and shaped into a natural form, hold the hovering table-top “canopies” in a manner representative of a tree trunk in the rain forest.
